Amoxicillin sodium is the sodium salt of amoxicillin and a penicillin antibiotic. Its pharmacological action is the same as that of amoxicillin. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. The target molecule is the penicillin binding protein PBPs on the cell wall. Some PBPs belong to self Lysozyme Chemicalbook, once activated, the enzyme will cause bacterial cell lysis. By inhibiting these PBPs, the bacteria deform and cell division are delayed. This process occurs during the reproduction period of bacterial cells. Therefore, this type of drug is a bactericidal agent during the reproduction period.
